Tension Release Foam Rolling

Do you have tension, tight muscles or experience inflexibility in areas of your body?  Foam rolling is an easy and inexpensive way to take care of those things... it's a method of self-massage!


Most people have heard of foam rolling,  though many do not know the details, the concept nor the full benefits of foam rolling.  Believe me, it is one of the best kept secrets!  


Many athletes rollout as a daily sports massage and I've heard countless stories of folks who travel with their foam rollers -- literally, they won't leave home without them!


This deep tissue massage method is basically a myofascial release.

Let's get technical, just for a moment.  Myofascial release (or MFR) is a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. Self-myofascial release refers to someone performing this therapy on themselves. This alternative therapy aims to relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles.  It basically releases the fascia off the muscle so that the muscle can fire properly and perform at it's fullest capability.  


During a rollout, we  slowly seek out those tight muscles, trigger points, and places  of muscle density.  The rollout eases tension, increases blood flow and oxygen to the area and over time,  frees the muscle (and you) from constrictions.
